Nissan will also unveil the updated 2014 GT-R  at the Tokyo Motor Show.The refreshed model brings a series of upgrades that give it a more comfortable ride, more refinement and a more upscale interior.
  The GT-R’s suspension has been fine-tuned to reduce load fluctuation between the four wheels, providing better stability and more consistent grip. Nissan has also optimized the electronic control of the shock-absorber valves and modified the front stabilizer spring rates and bush link, giving the car an enhanced road-holding capability.

On the inside, the new model year car comes with a choice of three color schemes including a new pale ivory trim option. The steering wheel gets a leather wrap, while the part-aniline leather seats are feature stitched accents. Less noise enters the cabin even at high speeds thanks to optimized insulation and acoustic tuning.
 
Other updates include the reduction of minute vibrations and road noise, the addition of new Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT 600 DSST CTT standard tires.
The brakes have also been retuned for a more firm and linear response at everyday speeds, making smooth braking more intuitive. Moreover, steering is now easier to use during in-town maneuvers.
 
In terms of styling,Nissan GT-R features new LED headlights with AFS (Adaptive Front lighting System) and a distinctive "lightning" motif, while the four-ring taillights now form coherent circles of illumination.The GT-R also gains a new body color called Gold Flake Red Pearl, featuring microscopic gold-tinted glass flakes infused into the red paint. Nissan also offers an optional carbon rear wing, which is attached to a carbon trunk lid that weighs half than the standard trunk lid.

Nissan unveiled the new GT-R from Sumo Power GT and Swiss Racing Team at the Automobile Club de France, Paris. The car will race the 2010 FIA GT1 World Championship.
The #23 Sumo Power GT-entered Nissan GT-R will be driven by Peter Dumbreck (Scotland) and Michael Krumm (Germany) and the #3 entry from Swiss Racing Team by multiple FIA GT race-winner Karl Wendlinger.
"We are very excited about NISSAN returning to a world championship after nearly 20 years away. The FIA GT1 World Championship is an ideal venue for NISSAN to showcase its technology globally through the participation of its iconic model the NISSAN GT-R. Our partner teams, Sumo Power GT and Swiss Racing Team are also excited about racing the NISSAN GT-R at circuits around the world. We are looking forward to the inaugural race in Abu Dhabi in April."

Under glorious skies in the centre of the French capital, a press conference was held at the Automobile Club de France officially launching the new-for-2010 FIA GT1 World Championship.

Ahead of what is expected to be an extremely competitive inaugural season, the event drew nearly 300 people, including the media, manufacturer representatives, sponsors, teams and drivers. Emceed by ex-racer Tiff Needell, the event’s first speaker was FIA President Jean Todt, followed by series’ founder and CEO of the SRO Motorsports Group Stephane Ratel.
Among the six manufacturer representatives who then spoke, NISMO President and NISSAN Motor’s Global Motorsports Program Director Yuichi Sanada commented, “We are very excited about NISSAN returning to a world championship after nearly 20 years away. The FIA GT1 World Championship is an ideal venue for NISSAN to showcase its technology globally through the participation of its iconic model the NISSAN GT-R. Our partner teams, Sumo Power GT and Swiss Racing Team are also excited about racing the NISSAN GT-R at circuits around the world. The Press Conference was followed by the unveiling of the 2010 cars on the Place Vendome, located in the heart of the city, and which drew a great deal of attention from onlookers and passersby. Machines from each of the twelve competing teams were uncovered one by one, including the #23 Sumo Power GT-entered NISSAN GT-R and the similar #3 entry from Swiss Racing Team, both cars displaying their final livery for the first time.
Drivers Peter Dumbreck (Scotland) and Michael Krumm (Germany) from the #23 Sumo Power GT entry were on hand for photographs and to field questions, while multiple FIA GT race-winner Karl Wendlinger, who will drive one of the Swiss Racing Team-entered NISSAN GT-Rs spoke as a representative of the GT1 drivers. “I have been racing in the FIA GT Championship for many years, but now I’m very excited about the new world championship – and very happy to be driving the NISSAN GT-R.”

Both teams have taken part in pre-season testing: Sumo Power GT attending the FIA official test at France’s Paul Ricard and also conducting a private test in Spain while Swiss Racing Team have been to two FIA official tests, at the Algarve Circuit and at Paul Ricard.

Drivers for the #22 Sumo Power GT and #4 Swiss Racing Team entries will be announced shortly.

Within the next 10 days, the 4 competing NISSAN GT-Rs will be shipped to Abu Dhabi for the season-opener, taking place at the Yas Marina circuit on April 17th. The inaugural FIA GT1 World Championship then visits another nine countries.




 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Twelve years and 5.5 million units after its introduction in 1994, Nissan announced that its award winning VQ engine is heading for retirement. But don't you Nissan fans get all worried as the Renault's brother-in-arms simultaneously presented it's VQ successor that will be available in 2.5 & 3.5 litre forms.
Although Nissan doesn't give us any information on the engines output, it is expected that the VQ35 will produce over 300 Hp. The 3.5L VQ35HR and 2.5L VQ25HR engines will be built at Nissan's Iwaki Plant in Fukushima Prefecture and will equipped the all-new Skyline to be released this autumn in Japan, as well as the US where the model is sold as the Infiniti G35. Later the engines will find their place in other Infiniti and Nissan models such as the 350Z, the Murano, the FX etc.
Featuring newly designed engine blocks and other key components, the engines promise to offer smooth transition to top-in-class level engine speed of 7.500 rpm. According to Nissan, the new VQ engines achieve a 10% improvement in fuel efficiency compared to vehicles equipped with the existing VQ engine and top-in-class Super Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle level emissions. SU-LEVs have 75% or less nitrogen oxide (NOx) and hydrocarbon (HC) emissions than those stipulated by Japan's 2005 exhaust emission standards.
